Hi! Get to know us a little. We'd love to get to know you, too.
Proud to be the only locally-owned, women's lifestyle magazine. We live here, patronize your businesses, support your sports teams, schools, non-profits and entertainment venues. We are a catalyst for local business and supporting women in every way.
Chantel McDonnell
Owner
Chantel visited the Black Hills as a child and fell in love hoping one day to move out here from Dell Rapids. In 2013, she finally made the move. Chantel attended college at South Dakota State University, where she fell in love with marketing and non-profit work.
Chantel married to the love of her life, has four amazing children, and three dogs who love to give hugs. She is working hard to try and master her culinary skills, become a master gardener, and being the best version of herself.
Chantel looks forward to the opportunity to celebrate local women, promote small business, and highlight the beauty and culture of the Black Hills in Black Hills Woman Magazine.

Kayla Moslander
Graphic Designer
Kayla and her husband moved to the Black Hills in 2017, drawn by the natural beauty, trails, and countless rock climbing routes. Over the years, life has shifted in wonderful ways—today, Kayla is a proud mom to two boys. While she spends less time climbing and more time raising her kids, she wouldn’t have it any other way. The Black Hills remain at the heart of her family’s adventures and the inspiration behind much of her creativity.
As the graphic designer for Black Hills Woman magazine, Kayla is passionate about thoughtful, impactful design. She leads the creative vision for the publication, overseeing its visual identity from concept to final layout.
